For the 5th edition of the Week End des Musiques à l’ Image, the Philharmonie and Audi Talents Awards collaborated for two exceptional evenings in homage to two cinema masters: Jim Jarmusch and Spike Lee. Regular collaborator and then almost signature of Spike Lee since 1991, composer and jazz trumpet player Terence Blanchard, accompanied by Angélique Kidjo and Britten Sinfonia’s orchestra, revisited 25 years of complicity with Malcolm X’s director before a parterre of regular red carpet fans including Guillaume Canet, Alexandra Lamy and Romain Duris. For the first French performance of The Movie Music of Spike Lee & Terence Blanchard, the association between these two artists was expressed as a sound and image, between live melodies and simultaneous projections of key moments in the films.
