“SOUKHOS”: the Studio des Acacias by Mazarine invites Raphaël Barontini
From July 7 to 28, the Studio des Acacias by Mazarine presents “SOUKHOS”, a new exhibition by French visual artist Raphaël Barontini. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Hunter College of Art in New York, Barontini has made a name for himself with images that question the relationship between art and craft, East and West, and politics. Last year, he was selected by LVMH Métiers d’Art for an artist residency at the Heng Long tannery in Singapore. Organized in partnership with the Reiffers Art Initiatives endowment fund and with the support of the Mariane Ibrahim gallery, the exhibition, which is curated by Léa Chauvel-Lévy, brings together all of the works created by the artist during his residency as well as a selection of other representative pieces. On the occasion of the inauguration, Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers, Chairman and Founder of Mazarine Group, celebrated Barontini’s work surrounded by fervent supporters of the young contemporary art scene and cultural diversity.
