Sotheby’s Paris celebrates Jewelry sale with Joséphine de la Baume
While Sotheby’s Paris celebrates its 50th anniversary this year (twenty of which were spent at Galerie Charpentier), the famous auction house unveiled this week their next auction dedicated to fine jewelry. With “Joaillerie Paris”, Sotheby’s brings together nearly 250 lots of some of the greatest jewelers of all time: Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Chaumet… Some of these collector’s pieces belonged to the French ballet icon, Zizi Jeanmaire. Others date from 1910 to 1930, but their contemporary appeal remains intact to date. And that is precisely the message Sotheby’s conveyed by inviting Josephine de la Baume to embody her favorite pieces from the collection in a photographic series somewhere between heritage and modernity, on display in the gallery. As the sale prepares to take place on October 11, Sotheby’s invited the French actress and singer to perform with her group Film Noir during an exclusive event where you could meet Margherita Missoni, Annabelle Belmondo, Kristina Bazan or Alexandra Ricci, all present to celebrate the launch of the sale.
