Seletti Design Pride Takes Over the Streets of Milan with a Colorful Street Parade
Without a doubt, one of the must-attend events of this Salone del Mobile 2023, was the Design Pride parade. Organised by Italian design brand Seletti, the street parade invaded the city centre, attracting and welcoming all visitors to join. In the spirit of celebrating creativity in its various expressions, the parade marched all the way to Piazza Affari, where Save The Duck got everyone dancing at the “Open The Cage Party”. Opening the procession in Piazza Castello, a performance by singer and songwriter Gaia warmed up the roving crowd. The evening was topped off with performances (inside a cage!) by Free Animals, Diora Madama, Unusual Magic + Dafne, Evissimax and Dj Shorty. The “No animals were harmed” installation and the “L.O.V.E.” piece, dressed in the brand’s iconic quilts, created an unexpected yet engaging stage setting for the evening. Seletti had also gathered over 500 young people to parade with the fun gadgets of the We Are Design initiative, thus boosting the positivity and inclusivity of the “we are all design” banner. Many were the figures joining Stefano Seletti, artistic director of Seletti and founder of the party, including Paola Barale, Paola Marella, Alessandro Malossi, Johanna Maggy, Paolo Dalla Mora, Paride Vitale, among others.
