Sean Suen Unveils his Daydream in the Aisles of the Cujas Library
For Sean Suen, choosing the narrow aisles of a library was no coincidence. In this liminal space where the outside world seems to have no hold, the Chinese fashion designer unveils his SS26 collection, born of the wandering mind of a sleepy student. Large headpieces, striking draperies and unexpected layering blend together, alongside neutral tones and vibrant colours that take us by surprise. Historical inspirations abound: coins have replaced buttons on the long, pointy collars, and lengthy Louis XIV-inspired bows fall over draped loincloths reminiscent of antiquity. The models, some of whom wore their hair in the shape of angels’ wings, walked through the silent tranquillity of the library to a Debussy tune. Halfway between dream and reality, the show brought together Louis Rubi, Damys, Aimé Simone, Jonathan Hayden, Pascal K Douglas and many others.
