Schiaparelli Unveils its New Artistic Fable
Undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited events of the week, Schiaparelli made its return to Haute Couture Fashion Week with the unveiling of its Fall-Winter 24 collection. As is customary, the Maison took over the Petit Palais to unveil its latest creations, which paid tribute to some of the greatest names in the history of art. This was Daniel Rosenberry’s way of celebrating the fiery passion of the late designer, through a show that skillfully blends contemporary trends and timeless pieces. A touch of Yves Klein blue, a sunrise effect in the spirit of Salvador Dali and illustrations reminiscent of Joan Miró’s signature motifs were some of the elements composing the catwalk’s mise-en-scène. The designer’s narrative is a sentimental ode to Elsa Schiaparelli’s style and the artists she admired. Transcending centuries, Daniel Roseberry takes us on a journey through a museum-like collection that features stunning signature details. Spotted: an outrageously voluminous coat in ivory mohair, mirrored by jewellery with XXL wooden beads symbolizing the linked hands of Pascal and Pascaline, Elsa Schiaparelli’s beloved darlings. The collection exudes nostalgia and pays homage to the heritage of the Maison, if only for the sheer amount of gold accessories onstage…Beneath the grandiose frescoes of the main gallery, we spotted a star-studded crowd, including Violet Chachki, Gwendoline Christie, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Cardi B, Chiara Ferragni, Marissa Berenson..
