Sandra Hegedüs celebrates Sam Art Projects’ 10th anniversary

2018 was an emotional year for Sam Art Projects: while its founder Sandra Hegedüs was awarded the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronnage Award, the organization celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Since 2008, Sam Art Projects has awarded an annual prize to a contemporary artist residing in France and presenting a project for a foreign, non-Western country. The aim is to promote dialogue between North and South and East and West in order to spread art outside the major marketplaces. The members of the selection committee, Sandra Hegedüs, Myriam Ben Salah, Emma Lavigne, Jean de Loisy, Jean-Hubert Martin, Thierry Raspail, Annabelle Ténèze, Marie-Ann Yemsi, and the director Jessie Charbonneau were present, as were other art specialists, such as Jérôme Sans, Laurent Le Bon, Martin Guesnet, Gilbert Kann, Colette Barbier or Claudine Papillon, to name a few. This year, Kévin Rouillard, a French artist who graduated from the Beaux-Arts, received the jury’s honors. The Tokyo Art Club hosted the event meant as a kids’ birthday. The theme (“we’re all 10 years old”) was supported by multicolored balloons, confetti, crepe paper garlands and teddy bears… The highlight of the evening: cake time! It’s not every day that you turn ten…
