The fifth edition of “a ppr oc he” presents the new horizons of photography

a ppr oc he, the fair dedicated to experimentation with contemporary photography, opened the doors of its fifth edition this weekend in Paris. At the Molière, the fair’s first home, a ppr oc he once again brought together artists, galleries and professionals of contemporary art around its unique vision of contemporary photography. This year, its founder and director Emilia Genuardi invited five curators to present one or two artists each. The choices of Tatyana Franck, Etienne Haut, Aurélie Marcadier, Caroline Stein and Raphaëlle Stopin thus create a collective exhibition allowing synergies and opening up new horizons. Major contemporary concerns find their echo in the plurality of works and formats: The exploration of new territories for Caroline Corbasson, Grégoire Eloy, Sylvie Bonnot and Ilanit Illouz, or the reality and fiction of personal memory for Mouna Saboni and Vasantha Yagananthan. Some consider the photographic medium as a tool for new experiences, like David Weber-Krebs who used the online platform Zoom to create a shared sleeping experience with the viewers. This new edition of the fair, held from November 12 to 14 under the artistic direction of Emilia Genuardi, Tatyana Franck and Étienne Hatt, has once again taken contemporary photography off the beaten path and shed light on a new generation of talents who are redefining this medium with infinite possibilities.
