Sacem Pays Resounding Tribute to Film Music
John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Ennio Morricone, Francis Lai, Michel Legrand and Alexandre Desplat: their soundtracks have been an integral part of our best cinematic experiences. Sacem is paying tribute to these famous names and other less well-known artists at the Cannes Festival with a series of special events. This year, Alexandre Desplat was given the spotlight in an exceptional Music Lesson alongside director Guillermo del Toro. On the evening of this exciting meeting in the Salle Bunuel and hosted by Stéphane Lerouge, the Palais des Festivals hosted an red carpet event specially dedicated to the composers of the films that are part of the Festival official selections. Celebrating the inherent ties between music and cinema, this vibrant tribute brought together many people, among whom were Patrick Sigwalt, Audrey Ismaël, Olivier Marguerit, Alex Beaupain, Alexeï Aïgui, Clemence Ducreux, Arthur Decloedt, Delphine Malaussena and Para-One.
