Alexandre Gauthier and Julien Sebbag inaugurate Ruinart’s Unconventional Restaurant

Ruinart chose a former atelier in Paris’ 7th arrondissement to set up a new, one-of-a-kind experience. A part of its Food for Art program, the oldest Champagne House has just opened the doors of its Unconventional Restaurant, an ‘ephemeral cabinet of culinary curiosities’ that will unveil a high-profile program from October 16 to 31. Maison 1729 is an exceptional venue where Champagne and gastronomy meet in a scenography of British artist David Shrigley, who presented a carte blanche for Ruinart in 2020. The restaurant, which will also host various workshops and cooking classes, will invite exceptional chefs Alexandre Gauthier, Antonin Bonnet, Alessandra Montagne, Cathy Paraschiv, Julien Sebbag, Céline Pham and Valentine Davase. Each of them will take turns offering food lovers a limited series of dinners and lunches inspired by Ruinart’s vintages. Prior to its official opening on October 16, two-starred chef Alexandre Gauthier inaugurated Maison 1729 with a private dinner attended by Frédéric Dufour, president of Ruinart, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Victoria Wilmotte, Yvon Lambert, Jennifer Flay and Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers. It was an excellent appetizer before the official opening the next day, this time orchestrated by chef Julien Sebbag.
