Romain Torri Chose the Comfort of his Home in Versailles to Present Les Années Sauvages with Artus de Lavilléon and Natasha Andrews.
Gallery owner Romain Torri has invited some of his closest friends to his large 18th-century Versailles apartment to rediscover, in a different and unusual way, the program of his eponymous art gallery. Under the panelling and cornices, contemporary art contrasts and takes on a new meaning. During a very intimate evening, guests had the opportunity to glimpse the work of Artus de Lavilléon, best known for the illustrations he creates for M Le Monde.
An emblematic figure of Parisian life over the past 30 years, Artus de Lavilléon unveils an exclusive photographic work he began in the 1990s, featuring his friends and family as well as French street culture.
The evening also featured the latest work of Natasha Andrews, a multi-faceted artist who was commissioned by Romain Torri to create a photographic work on the Potager du Roi, Louis XIV’s famous garden in Versailles.
By choosing the intimacy of his home for this rather informal evening, Romain Torri wished to highlight the strong bonds of friendship he has developed over the past 15 years, with friends from the film industry, close art collectors and neighbors from Versailles, and to ensure that the evening took place in a warm atmosphere.
