Marcos Ávila Forero wins the Ricard Foundation Prize
Last September, the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard inaugurated “Le fil d’alerte”, an exhibition bringing together the artists of its 2019 Prize, now in its 21st edition. While this collective show will end on October 26th, Colette Barbier and curator Claire Le Restif announced the winner during FIAC in Paris. Beau Regard, a restaurant and cinema that opened its doors in September, played host to a room filled with a who’s who of the contemporary art world in Paris. Guests included Laure Prouvost, Mircea Cantor and Julien Creuzet, curators Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel and Gaël Charbeau, Palais de Tokyo director Emma Lavigne, Emerige President Laurent Dumas and Serge Lasvignes, President of Le Centre Pompidou. After a screening organized in Beau Regard’s brand new cinema, the Ricard 2019 Corporate Foundation Award went to Marcos Ávila Forero who will soon show one of his pieces at the National Museum of Modern Art – Le Centre Pompidou. The artist joined guests to head to the adjacent restaurant to celebrate complete with a performances by Fabienne Audeoud, Lafawndah and TNHCH who have been working for more than twenty years to help to highlight rising stars in the young French art scene.
