Retori Unveils Chapter 01: An Intimate Launch at Casa Flash Art

Casa Flash Art, Milan

A secret garden in the heart of Milan, a carefully curated guest list, cocktails in hand and eyes scanning fabrics as if they were paintings. The other evening, at Casa Flash Art on Via Durini, fashion met art under the name Retori — an emerging label already sharp in its vision — unveiling in preview its debut collection, Chapter 01. A shared narrative, or better yet, a rite of passage. On the ground floor, an informal cocktail reception across the rooms and garden; in the basement, an exclusive dinner surrounded by the works that inspired the garments: those of Diedrick Brackens and Daniella Portillo, two artists whose poetics of memory and awakening sparked the creative flame of artistic director Salma Rachid.

In Chapter 01, volumes are fluid, materials generous, and details speak softly but deeply. Reversible blazers, trench coats that morph into dresses, scarves that wrap around like a promise. The palette — mustard, bordeaux, forest green — is a mental landscape to wear. And then there are the tricolor leather bandanas. This is not about trends, but about identity, memory, roots. And about a different way of approaching fashion: as storytelling. Taking part in this tale the other night were, among others, artistic director Salma Rachid, CEO Zaccheo Manzoni, event hosts Gea Politi and Cristiano Seganfreddo, and several key figures from the world of art and culture such as Milovan Farronato, Nico Vascellari, Caroline Corbetta, Cloe Piccoli, Damiano Gullì, Tommaso Sacchi, Emanuela Schmeidler, and Carlo Antonelli.

Designed and produced in Italy, Chapter 01 is an emotional and sartorial travel diary, made for those who move through the world with awareness and a hunger for beauty.
