Hotel W Paris-Opéra invites Kiddy Smile and Hyphen Hyphen to “Queer Me Out”
After Paris—and the rest of the world—celebrated Pride, the W Paris-Opéra hotel saluted the LGBTQ+ community with its “Queer Me Out” soirée. The initiative has already been successful in its establishments in Seattle, Amsterdam and London, providing an opportunity to attend talks led by creatives from the queer community. The Parisian edition brought together DJ and producer Kiddy Smile, actress Allanah Starr, the members of the group Hyphen Hyphen, Santa, Lime and Adam, as well as the president of the Alcazar, and creator of La Madame Klaude, Fabrice Gilberdy. The conversation was moderated by Frédéric Fontan, founder of the Alfalibra agency, in association with the magazine Gay Times. At the hotel’s Bar Brûlé, discussions formed around the impact of queer figures in creative industries, obstacles to overcome, and the role of transgender people in the Stonewall riots given its 50th anniversary this year. After the talk, there was a DJ set by Kiddy Smile along with vogue dancers Vinii Revlon and Mme-B LaDurée/Mermaid – in a room packed to capacity, the guests partied along with drag performers. Shortly after, Mr. Ticki delivered an electric performance of Erma Franklin’s “Hold On, I’m coming.”
