Experimenting with Couture at Schiaparelli
In just a few days, Schiaparelli’s latest couture show was the talk of the town. Designed by Daniel Rosberry, this revolutionary new collection was composed of dresses topped with hyper-realistic animal heads. Described as modern trompe l’oeil and reminiscent of the surrealist art movement that deeply inspired Elsa Schiaparelli, these very special pieces of art, although criticized, still demonstrated the great expertise of the House. And they most definitely shouldn’t overshadow the rest of an impeccable collection inspired by Dante’s Inferno. With oversized shoulder pads, sculptural strapless dresses and outrageous necklines, Rosberry reaffirmed once again Schiaparelli as a very special field of experimentation for Couture.
