Juliette Armanet presents the Prix de la Brasserie Barbès to Fred Rister

Le Prix de la Brasserie Barbès—pioneered by Jean Vedreine, co-founder of the brewery—is a literary prize that recognizes work devoted to the theme of music. The second edition of the prize was entrusted to Juliette Armanet, who chose a winner from among seven contenders. Her jury included Caroline de Maigret, Kiddy Smile, Gaspard Augé and Regina Demina, and the final decision was made on May 22nd. Producer Fred Rister won 2000 euros for his autobiography “Faire danser les gens,” published by Séguier—and a plate with his name engraved on it. (The inaugural winner was Karim Madani.) At the party, held on the brewery’s patio, highlights of the evening included not only the award ceremony itself, but a concert by Lulu Van Trapp and a DJ set by Breakbot.
