The Félix Marcilhac private collection is one of the largest Art Deco collections in the world. It is a work in its own right, a manifesto of great taste, exceptional artistic sensitivity and the spirit of the art historian to whom we owe the illumination of major 20th century artists including Jean Dunand, sculptor Joseph Csaky and painter Jacques Majorelle. Built up over more than forty years, the collection brings together the great artists of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, from Emile Gallé to Jean Dunand, including Jean Goulden, André Groult, Ernest Boiceau and François-Louis Schmied.
While waiting for the auction at Sotheby of this incredible private collection, the pieces are to be discovered at Artcurial, which had the good idea to open this exhibition to the public, until February 17. Review of the preview, where collectors, specialized gallerists, and heirs of Félix Marcilhac met.
