Played by Isabelle Huppert, The Richest Woman in the World Raises the Bar
We are dealing with a scandal that hit the French tabloid. Presented out of Competition, Thierry Klifa’s film “The Richest Woman in the World” draws on the real-life story of Françoise Bettencourt-Meyers, heiress to the giant L’Oréal company, transforming a classic tragedy into a contemporary drama, halfway between psychological thriller and bourgeois drama. To play the character inspired by Liliane Bettencourt, the director had his heart set on Isabelle Huppert. The actress plays the fictional Marianne Farrère, boss of the Windler group, who falls in love with Pierre-Alain Fantin, a famous writer and photographer played by Laurent Lafitte.
We caught a glimpse of some of the cast members as they walked up the prestigious red steps, including Isabelle Huppert, Laurent Lafitte, Marina Foïs, Raphaël Personnaz and director Thierry Klifa.
