Fila and Astrid Andersen unveil Fjord, their premium line at Pitti Uomo
After a first show at Milan Fashion Week last September, the Italian sportswear brand Fila reaffirmed its attachment to its origins during Pitti Uomo 95. The brand new premium line Fila Fjord was presented in a historic Florentine palace, the Palazzo Borghese, located on the banks of the Arno River. The brand’s motto “measure of perfection” is dear to its artistic director, Astrid Andersen, appointed at the end of last year. The Danish designer is known for combining sportswear and luxury. “It is an honor to present my collection for Fila Fjord at Pitti, the international fashion show. It’s a brand new proposal, a search for perfection, comfort and new energy,” she said during the evening of the presentation. In front of marble fireplaces and period bronze chandeliers, all covered with gigantic recyclable plastic canvases, the models embodied a new vision of comfort, with clothes designed in mesh, cashmere and merino wool—always with a sustainable perspective. Already well-known for her previous collaboration with Fendi, Astrid Andersen’s designs for Fila have piqued the interest of front-row style experts.
