Pierre Dunoyer and his “paintings of thought” are Back in the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris
An opportunity to discover, for those who do not know him, or to revisit, for those already familiar with his work, the Musée d’Art Moderne offers a retrospective of Pierre Dunoyer’s signature paintings. Curated by Benjamin Couilleaux and Carrie Cunningham, this exhibition presents 14 selected pieces representative of Dunoyer’s artistic career. Exhibited in chronological order from 1978 to 2022, what he refers to as “object-paintings” or “paintings of thought” allow us to trace the evolution of the French artist’s brush and colour palette. Deeply interested in abstraction and adopting a philosophical approach to his practice, Dunoyer speaks of form, colour and space through his distinctive thick and colourful brushstrokes. The exhibition was inaugurated on December 1st, here are some pictures of the launching evening… yet we highly recommend seeing the paintings in vivo!
