#PARISCOVERY, inauguration of the hotel Le Méridien Etoile
When the first Le Méridien hotel opened its doors in 1972, the desire was to offer its guests a luxurious home, even on the move. The Meridien Étoile and its 1025 rooms thus became the flagship of a group that rapidly began its international expansion.
It was therefore natural for Le Méridien to return to its roots by renovating this first establishment, the largest hotel in intramuros Paris, and in particular its mythical Jazz Club Etoile. It is therefore the fruit of a year’s work and a brand new decor in the spirit of”mid-century modern” (popularized by the Mad Men series among others) that was unveiled last week at an evening where the All-TimeParis came to discover the rooms designed by the French interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel and the new shared spaces designed by London firm Michaelis Boyd to whom we owe the renewal of the legendary Battersea Power Station across the Channel.
Besides this architectural dimension, it is a true cultural will which animates the reopening, with a cure of the curator Marion Vignal. Four artists thus sign an intriguing and personal entry point into a Paris, capital and radiating focal point of the world. And what a way to start that evening #PARISCOVERY which saw Le Méridien Etoile showcasing its artistic universe by hosting the world premiere”Paris After Dark”, the avant-garde show by hair designer Charlie Le Mindu, destined to visit Shanghai, Vienna and Singapore, still with Le Méridien, in the weeks to come.
