Paris Photo Celebrates its Silver Jubilee at the Grand Palais Éphémère
The most important event entirely devoted to photography, Paris Photo, lands anew at the Grand Palais Ephémère. And this edition is indeed a very special one as it marks 25 years of commitment to supporting photographic creation internationally. Paris Photo officially opens its doors on November 10, offering its visitors the opportunity to discover 183 exhibitors coming from 31 different countries. Such a gathering called for an iconic guest of honour, namely the incomparable Rossy de Palma. The Spanish artist and beloved muse is the face of this year’s edition and has curated a selection of 25 works to be presented at the Grand Palais Éphémère.
To celebrate the imminent launch of this special edition, an exclusive cocktail party was held last night in the Salle Ovale of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. The magnificent venue, newly re-opened after 5 years of work, provided the perfect dwelling for the evening. The guests could enjoy a confidential viewing of a curated selection of iconic photographs from the BNF collections, as well as the speech given by Paris Photo director Florence Bourgeois. Among the attendees, we notably encountered American photographer Rosalind Fox Solomon, famous for her portrait photography and whose work will also be featured at the Grand Palais Éphémère.
