Ottolinger SS25: A Tribute to Reinvention

For its SS25 show, Ottolinger came up with a collection in which the modern woman is described as a “body in transit”, moving fluidly between past and future. The collection blends both bold and minimalist elements, finding the balance between festive energy and a quest for renewal.

After exploring a more formal style in the previous collections, Ottolinger comes back to its experimental roots and organic aesthetic. The two Swiss designers and founders of the brand, Cosima Gadient and Christa Bösch, return to their signature styles: the use of lace, stripes and deconstructed effects, featured on dresses or frayed sweater-coats. These details, combined with asymmetrical cuts and cleverly placed cut-outs, evoke Ottolinger’s distinctive controlled chaos.

The collection exudes a raw, almost wild energy, intensified by silhouettes reminiscent of surf and beach imagery. The theme of vacation and sun is omnipresent, with models sporting wavy hair, oversized sunglasses and skin-tight neoprene outfits, recalling the aesthetic of the series Baywatch. This imagery was reinforced by a spectacular set design by Shayn Oliver, in the shape of the mouth of a giant shark, which made the models look like heroines from a post-apocalyptic blockbuster. The event was accompanied by a soundtrack by iconic underground electro artist Arca.

On the front row, we met Ronisia, LSDXOXO, Raya Martini, Ceval, Normani, Juliana Nalu and many others.
