On the occasion of the release of Manufactura on November 15 – a beautiful book presenting twelve emblematic manufactures of a French know-how -, the two heads of the project Sophie Brändström and Valérie Paumelle gathered some French luxury actors in the showroom of the Kraft company, under the sponsorship of Valrhona chocolates and Champagne Drappier.
In these pages, a true tribute to the best craftsmen in France, be they weavers, cambreurs or saddlers, so many exceptional trades that enrich our cultural heritage and participate in the vitality of French crafts. Composed of testimonies, photographs and anecdotes, the work establishes a panorama of some of the most beautiful successes “made in France” of which Lalique, Hermès, Goyard or Puiforcat, enamelled by the confidences of Inès de la Fressange or Alain Ducasse, and prefaced by the painter/sculptor Gérard Garouste. Between tradition and modernity, carried by the values of work well done and the object of exception which is inscribed in time, Manufactura is a true ode to the shaping of the dream.
