There are Mondays like this where it’s nice to step outside. A few days after the end of the Cannes fortnight, French cinema met again, not on the steps of the Palais but this time around Pharrell Williams, for the opening of the exhibition G.I.R.L of which he is the superstar curator. An event of the utmost importance, all the more so as the performer of’Happy’ immediately delivered a live performance of his greatest titles, after Woodkid opened for them, supported by his eternal string quartet. Fashion, art and music have not been neglected, creating a delicious salmigondis of worldly high spheres. Enough to bring joy to Paris and the gallery’s picture rails at the top of their art.
Paris thanks Emmanuel Perrotin for this moment of happiness, but won’t forget to take a look at the curated by PW exhibition, which brings together the gallery owner’s great signatures and guest artists, from Marina Abramovic to Sophie Calle, including Jean-Michel Othoniel, Xavier Veilhan, Annette Messager, Daniel Firman and Ryan McGinley. Until June 25. Happy monday!
