Opening Festival ASVOFF 5

For this fifth edition, Diane Pernet has put the spotlights of ASVOFF at the Centre Pompidou to highlight fashion for three days with short films and docu – sometimes provocative but always of good tone – and ultra-sophisticated performances. The French fashion designer Claude Montana and the monthly Obsession had carte blanche: a focus on the crazy bling-bling of the 80s for one and a thriller for the other (Obsession, directed by Brian de Palma, 1976 ndlr). We also note the rediscovery of the Polly Maggoo model through the eye of the American photographer William Klein, and the illuminated presentation of the inspiring Daphne Guinness. This year, the ORLAN artist will chair this high-flying jury composed of sixteen leading figures from both arts, including Tim Blanks, MIchel Gaubert, Maria Luisa, Elisha Karmitz and Dominique Issermann. At the end of the screenings, Monica Menez won the “Best director prize”, Goran Grahovac the “Emerging talent prize”, and Jessica Miltrani is the lucky winner of the ASVOFF 5 Grand Prix. Congrats!
