‘Oiseau de Paradis’: the amis du Centre Pompidou pay tribute to Bernard Blistène

On June 18th, the ‘amis du Centre Pompidou’ paid tribute to Bernard Blistène, director of the Musée national d’art moderne, on the occasion of a grand evening in Beaubourg. The association gave carte blanche to Maxime Rossi. The French artist imagined a series of performances to fit into the new hanging of modern and contemporary collections of the museum, and called on some forty performers to slip into the skin of various artworks. Thus, Ingrid Caven, Barbara Carlotti, Marc Chouarain, Thomas Bloch, or the Marching Band Paris Project, were transformed into singing and dancing artworks, in an atmosphere of general celebration. The strolling opera in four acts ended at dusk, and managed to show that culture isn’t dead!
