OFFSCREEN Kicks Off Paris Art Week with MASTERMIND and DIOR PARFUMS
For its 4th edition, OFFSCREEN teams up with Dior Parfums and Mastermind magazine to celebrate the opening of Paris Art Week at a new monumental venue: the Chapelle Saint-Louis de la Salpêtrière, an iconic historic site along the Seine. From October 21st to 26th, OFFSCREEN Paris brings together a selection of avant-garde artists, both historical and contemporary, featuring installations exploring still and moving images.
The guest of honour for this edition is Shigeko Kubota, a pioneer video artist represented by Fergus McCaffrey. Throughout a career spanning five decades, Kubota (1937–2015) played a major role in the recognition of video as an art form and had a decisive influence on the development of video sculpture.
At the launch party, we met OFFSCREEN’s founder and artistic director, Julien Frydman, as well as Maria Stamenković Herranz, Willy Cartier, Vittoria Matarrese, and others.
