Reiffers Art Initiatives presents ‘NO APOLOGIES’

A new endowment fund created by Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers, Reiffers Art Initiatives aims to support young contemporary artists and promote cultural diversity, notably through its mentoring program. Each year, Reiffers Art Initiatives invites a major figure in contemporary art to take on the role of mentor to a young talent. The mentor is responsible for choosing a winner within a group of artists selected by the artistic committee, offering him or her privileged support for six months. This mentorship leads to a solo exhibition of the winner in Paris during Fiac. Chosen to be the mentor of this first edition, American artist Rashid Johnson selected the French talent Kenny Dunkan earlier this year. This week, the two artists presented ‘NO APOLOGIES’ at the Studio des Acacias by Mazarine. They unveiled an installation representative of the winner’s work questioning the French colonial heritage and its representation in our society today. Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers invited numerous personalities from the world of art and culture to discover these new works for the exhibition’s opening, notably Rashid Johnson, Babeth Djian, Adel Abdessemed, Caroline Bourgeois or Guillaume Houzé. ‘NO APOLOGIES’ is on view until November 20 at the Studio des Acacias by Mazarine.
