Nicola Brognano’s moment of glory in Milan
Remember the name: Nicola Brognano. At just 29 years old, the Italian designer is on his way to becoming one of the most fashionable designers on the Milanese and international fashion scenes. His eponymous label, created in 2015, earned him the “Who Is On Next” award the following year. Already capable of attracting all of Milan to his fashion shows, his autumn-winter 2020 show is even more memorable for Brognano. A few minutes before the start of the show, a rumor circulated that Nicola Brognano had been appointed artistic director of Blumarine. The rumor was quickly confirmed by official press releases and an Instagram post by the designer, who will present his first cruise collection in June. His appointment comes after the recent takeover of the brand (founded by Anna Molinari) by Marco Marchi. The excitement felt over the collection on display that day was heightened by the mix of a Nineties silhouette and the refinement of silk dresses worn over shirts and tulle creations as light as air.
