Natures Mortes: Anne Imhof’s performances shake up the Palais de Tokyo

Inaugurated last May, NATURES MORTES, the Anne Imhof carte blanche at the Palais de Tokyo, will come to an end at the end of FIAC week. Before the exhibition closes on October 24, the German artist, who was awarded the Golden Lion at the 57th Venice Biennale, is completing her carte blanche with a new performative work. For this series of performances, the artist has surrounded herself with longtime collaborators, American artist and musician Eliza Douglas, as well as performers Josh Johnson, Frances Chiaverini and Mickey Mahar. She entrusted them to take over the spaces of the Palais de Tokyo to create the exhibition’s explosive second act. On October 18th, the Palais de Tokyo (with the complicity of Burberry who organized an afterparty at the Yoyo) was filled with a crowd of art and fashion professionals as the performance space extended to the streets. Riccardo Tisci, Irina Shayk, Carine Roitfeld, Jean-Luc Verna, Lotta Volkova and Gaia Repossi were all present to take part in Anne Imhof’s masterful staging.
