While Haute Couture week begins in Paris, Chaumet presented yesterday the third chapter of their Haute Joaillerie collection, “Les Mondes de Chaumet”. After “Promenades Impériales” in Russia and “Chant du Printemps” in Japan, the jewelry house continued its creative journey at Centre Pompidou. Chaumet unveiled “Trésors d’Afrique”, a collection in homage to the artistic and ornamental richness of the sub-Saharan continent. It was no surprise that the guest list was up the event’s magnitude: the presence of top models Naomi Campbell, Natalia Vodianova and Liya Kebede showed that this was this was the place to be. Before the presentation, Centre Pompidou invited Chaumet’s guests to discover an original exhibition on the theme of Africa, which inspired the arts of the 20th century. On the walls, paintings by Basquiat or Picasso create the link with the artistic purpose of the House. As the evening is settling on Paris, contemporary silhouettes show the pieces of the collection, and highlight a country and culture that has inspired poets and artists throughout the ages…
