The Musée des Arts Décoratifs Pays Tribute to Cristofle’s Emblematic Creations
The undisputed ambassador of the French ‘art de vivre’, Christofle has been crafting the finest pieces of silverware since 1830, gracing the tasteful tables of both 18th-century royalty and today’s most sophisticated aesthetes. To pay tribute to Cristofle’s excellence, praised internationally, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is hosting a retrospective featuring over 600 creations from the Bouilhet-Christofle Conservatory and major national collections. Accompanied by paintings, drawings and sketches, these pieces embody not only Christofle’s history but also that of the places it has garnished, which include countless homes, opulent salons and even planes. “Christofle, a Brilliant Story” is an exhibition designed to plunge us into the heritage of a Maison that, in the image of its founder, keeps innovating and keeps pace with the times, which we can see in some of its latest pieces such as the go-to coffee cups and video game items.
At the opening evening, held on November 12th, we met Sylvie Corréard, Emilie Metge Viargues, Yorgo Tloupas, Mélanie Leroy…
