MSGM, Between Colours and Geometries
Originally, MSGM’s Spring-Summer 2024 collection was to be unveiled between two Gio Ponti buildings and the Leonardo Campus in Città Studi. Alas, the catwalk had to be held indoors, on Via Piranesi, due to bad weather. But the show must go on! MSGM’s creative director Giorgetti brought his sparkling, colourful collection to life by setting it against a white space, as if painting on a brand-new canvas. The clothes took care of that. They parade geometries rediscovered as paintings with bows, which stand out on little dresses, jackets and skirts. Mesh knits and over jackets, embellished with artsy applications, are worn with briefs or with portfolio skirts. Then here are polo shirts, an item almost always present in MSGM’s collections, which for this collection feature multicoloured brushstrokes, stripes or floral appliqués. Rounding off the look, sandals worn with socks. Sitting in the front row of the fashion show: Paolo Stella, Lars Huang, Natalia Bonifacci, Boggi Ken and Cheng Chang Fan.
