Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons open a new fashion chapter

Anybody who’s interested in fashion was waiting for this moment. Last February, Miuccia Prada announced Raf Simons‘ appointment as co-creative director of Prada. This kind of marriage between two pillars of the fashion industry had never been done before, but it is perfectly logical when you look at the two designers’ common history and relationship over the years. After all, it was Miuccia Prada who gave Simons the keys to Jil Sander (a brand owned by the Prada Group) back in 2005. Today, their relationship has come full circle with this first collection designed as a duo. The two co-creative directors unveiled their common vision of Spring-Summer 2021 with a digital show, which was broadcasted this week at Restaurant Girafe, a few days before the kick-off of Paris Fashion Week. Among the guests: Audrey Marnay, Virginie Ledoyen, Nicolas Maury, Jeanne Damas and Camille Charriere, along with journalists from major magazines. The show was followed by a talk between Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, who explained the process of working together and where they intend to take the brand in the future. While we enter a new decade, two of the biggest designers are ready to open a new fashion chapter…
