Milan, Menswear and Gentle Power: the Fashion Week 2026 Kicks Off
Last night, the January 2026 Milano Fashion Week® Men’s Collection officially got underway with an opening cocktail that chose substance over spectacle. The inaugural event, organized by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, took place at Rumore Bar inside Portrait Milano, a space that perfectly reflects the current state of menswear: refined, international, and firmly grounded.
Between one glass and the next, the system showed up in full. Designers, top executives from leading fashion houses, buyers, press and creatives filled the same room. All with the shared aim of shaping that ongoing dialogue between creativity and industry that continues to position Milan as a central node on the global menswear map. Less a social event than a moment of synchronization.
Carlo Capasa, Chairman of CNMI, brought the conversation back to the numbers: in 2025, Italian menswear performed on the same level as the previous year. In an unstable context, stability becomes an achievement. Italian menswear may not be racing ahead, but it is holding its ground and continuing to build value.
With this opening, CNMI officially launched a week focused on content, craftsmanship and new generations, without narrative shortcuts. Milan opens Men’s Fashion Week without grand statements, but with a clear certainty: the system works best when it stops talking about itself and gets back to work.
