At Milan Fashion Week, Philipp Plein’s show is always a highly anticipated and popular event. More than a fashion show in the traditional sense of the work, Philipp Plein has accustomed his guests to real performances. As always, Plein provided his guests with an over-the-top, full-circle experience, as the house celebrated its 20-year anniversary. For this new collection, the German designer chose to pay tribute to his all-time idol Michael Jackson, referencing with his clothes it-songs like “Thriller” or “Smooth Criminal”. In the Navigli Grande district hangar had been completely transformed to accommodate this huge production: a line up of 60 top models (Winnie Harlow, Ton Heukels, Shanelle Nyasiase, Daphne Groeneveld, Magdalena Frackowiak…) walked on a giant mirrored table where VIP guests were seated. A few steps away, a giant bar was installed to remind all guests of what was to come for the after party (namely a live concert by Rita Ora). Backstage, the atmosphere was electric as Chris Brown went on stage (or should we say, on the runway) to put everybody in the mood for more. On the podium, the collection grasped what “Bad” and Philipp Plein are all about: being “rebellious” and above all, fun!
