MIKLI Celebrates the Reopening of its Boutique on 74 Rue des Saint-Pères

In the middle of the 70s, a determined 23-year-old Alain Mikli was resolved to design eyewear that wasn’t just practical, but also a fashion statement. Entering a market  way too orthodox at the time, the young designer made a name for himself thanks to the edgy look of his sunglasses. The boldness of his proposal quickly seduced French and international icons such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, Philippe Starck, Grace Jones and Elton John.

As Alain Mikli makes his comeback as artistic director, the brand is also celebrating the new design of its boutique on 74 rue des Saints-Pères, an architectural project led by Spanish studio Nagami, and built entirely using 3D printing. More than 4,000 kg of recycled plastic and 1,600 hours of printing were involved in the construction of this luminous 50m2 space. The new collection has found its home in this unique space, promising to be just as striking as its predecessors. Between past and present, the latest frames are displayed alongside pairs from the brand’s archives, exhibited in futuristically designed cells. A blend of exceptional heritage and meticulous expertise, Alain Mikli offers a remarkable experience and a new sunglassesline that will appeal to customers of the past, present and future.

On September 19th, Alain Mikli invited customers, journalists and influencers to a cocktail party to mark the official reopening of the boutique, an exclusive preview where we met Alain Mikli himself, accompanied by his guests Alexandre Vauthier, Lilian Thuram and many others.
