With “Midnight Fruits”, Lily Robert brings nightlife back

The Lily Robert gallery opens its club – or kind of! With “Midnight Fruits”, curator Alexandre Stipanovich pays homage to nightlife by transforming the Parisian gallery into an almost real-life nightclub. For the occasion, he invited Studio Rafael de Cárdenas, known for their geometric creations, to create a scenography that would transform the gallery into a club, where five artists are invited to express themselves and show their love for nightlife. The scenography comprises a modular sofa as well as a DJ booth created in partnership with OJAS. In this setting, the five artists are given the perfect playground to go and pay tribute to the night – Spencer Sweeney, former figurehead of the Santos Party House in New York and known for his “Party Paintings” (exhibited here), Shayne Oliver (the founder of Hood By Air), or the Swiss artist Sylvie Fleury and the Americans Jonny Negron and Genevieve Goffman. “Nightlife is back!”, they all say with this exhibition, and we’re here for it! This June 20th, it was Simonez Wolf (former “king of the night made in New York” turned stylist for Supreme) who welcomed guests in this beloved club atmosphere, with a DJ set by Louise Chen, and in good company. The exhibition is on view until July 17 at 18, rue de l’Hôtel de Ville in Paris.
