Miart 2025 Celebrates Art as a Global and Collaborative Gathering
Titled “Among Friends”, miart 2025 is all about exchange and collaboration. Directed by Nicola Ricciardi, this edition of the fair pays tribute to Robert Rauschenberg on the centenary of his birth and draws inspiration from a major retrospective held at the MoMA New York in 2017.
From April 4th to 6th, Allianz MiCo in Milan hosts 179 galleries representing 30 countries across five continents. The fair is divided into three main sections: Established, the event’s gravitational centre, featuring galleries showcasing contemporary languages and works from the 20th century; Emergent, dedicated to new voices in contemporary art; and Portal, a space for exploration where the boundaries between disciplines, time, and space dissolve to create new perspectives.
The opening of the fair saw a large turnout of guests. Our photographers captured almost all of them. Among those in attendance—besides artistic director Ricciardi—were Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Roberto Bolle, Sabato De Sarno, Lombardy’s regional president Attilio Fontana, Stefano Seletti, Sergio Risaliti, Giovanna Silva, Lorenzo Giusti, Francesco Manacorda, Alessandro Rabottini, Zvonimir Boban, Massimo Giorgetti, and Marcelo Burlon.
But miart is more than just an art fair—it is an ecosystem of relationships. “This year, we are strengthening our connection with Milan and its art venues, emphasizing active participation,” explains Ricciardi. The result? A continuous dialogue between artists, gallerists, institutions, collectors, and the public, transforming the fair into a crossroads of ideas. Because now, more than ever, art thrives on connections.
