Max Mara makes waves with Milan Fall/Winter 2020/21 show
Sea and be seen was the mood at the Max Mara Fall-Winter 2020-2021 show in Milan. The brand’s classic fashion-meets-function aesthetic added passion to the practical with an escape into seafaring style featuring nautical stripes, pirate tassels and toggles. Ian Griffith’s new collection made waves with romantic ruffles, oversized coats and an ode to individual style designed as an adventurous interlude for the Max Mara working woman “from Morocco to Murmansk” and beyond. On the runway, Kaia Gerber and Bella Hadid starred alongside the brand’s iconic teddy coat that took on new forms from long and flared to caramel-colored and hooded. Keeping with the green mood du jour, Griffiths traded traditional down feathers for recycled and shredded Max Mara cashmere. Also on board this ocean-inspired adventure into romanticism : Chiara Ferragni, Brittany Xavier, Eva Chen, or the Italian actress Giulia Michelini.
