Marion Papillon Receives the Légion d’Honneur
On December 11th, Marion Papillon saw her distinguished career crowned with the prestigious Légion d’honneur. Founded in 1989 in the Marais by her mother, Claudine Papillon, the gallery has established long-standing relationships with renowned artists. Marion Papillon joined her in 2007 and has been running the gallery since 2016, continuing to prioritise long-term relationships with its artists.
Together, they keep expanding their team to support emerging, mid-career, and established French and international artists. For more than 10 years, the gallery’s role has extended beyond its walls: Marion Papillon founded Paris Galerie Weekend in 2014 and chaired the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art from 2020 to 2025 (and was its vice-president from 2014 to 2019).
With a strong conviction that artists should be promoted and international contemporary creation supported in all its diversity, Marion Papillon paid a heartfelt tribute to all those who had accompanied her on her journey. At the ceremony, we met Laurent Dumas, Rachida Dati, Carine Tissot, Estelle, Frances, Daniele Marcovici, and many others.
