Marie Losier and Pauline Curnier Jardin at Fondation d’entreprise Ricard

From May 21 to June 29, the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard is presenting a duo exhibition by artists Marie Losier and Pauline Curnier Jardin. Entitled “Parties, sans éteindre la lumière,” it is based on a proposal by Eric Mangion, director of the Nice-based art center Villa Arson. The artists fused their imaginations in a way that is “unbridled and extravagant,” with “incongruities and transgressive moods transforming and disguising everything globally,” as the exhibition text stated. Marie Losier presented work at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018; Pauline Curnier Jardin presented work at the Venice Biennale in 2017. For this joint exhibition, they unveil an “expanded” vision of cinema at the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard. Like entering an empty stage or movie set—but with the lights still on—a burlesque atmosphere hovers over the exhibition’s entry, which features the faces of Martha Kirszenbaum, Gaël Charbau and art historian Paula Aisemberg in an enveloped darkness.
