Sitting front row at Marco de Vincenzo Fall/Winter 2019
Marco de Vincenzo is a Milan Fashion Week staple. This year, the Italian designer is celebrating his label’s tenth anniversary, which has skyrocketed over the past seasons. “My favorite things” is the title of his Fall/Winter 2019 collection and it’s one of the most personal the designer has presented so far. His starting point: a ceramic deer from the 1940s, an object close to his heart. It inspired a series of accessories that were spotted on the streets of Milan, by way of social media, a few days before the show. Marco de Vincenzo describes this collection as “the weird and wonderful alphabet” of his label, and it brings together some of the elements he has always loved: lurex, curves, graphic motifs, macramé and sequins, velvet, and above all a bourgeois silhouette he manages to divert with an inimitable flair for kitsch. Evidence of his success could be found in his star-studded front row: Olivia Palermo, Candela Pelizza, Tina Leung, Italian superstar Levante and French it-girl Clara Berry.
