Marc-Antoine Barrois’s New London Flagship: Voyage to Wonderland
Luxury French fashion house MARC-ANTOINE BARROIS officially entered the UK market on November 15 with the Grand Opening of its new flagship. Located at the heart of the Piccadilly Arcade, the boutique carries the brand’s emblematic dreamlike essence and infuses it with a nod to English culture.
A replica of the Parisian boutique at the Galerie Véro-Dodat, the London flagship does not go unnoticed. A giant blue rabbit statue hanging upside down from the ceiling caught all eyes passing through Piccadilly Arcade. This piece, the result of the collaboration between Marc-Antoine Barrois and architect and artist Antoine Bouillot, is both a reference to the Alice in Wonderland tale and to the brand’s spirit.
This new boutique is an invitation from Marc-Antoine Barrois, who takes us on a voyage to the fantasy universe of children’s tales. The experience is successful, stepping into the Picadilly shop means entering the imagination of the French perfume designer.
For Marc-Antoine Barrois fragrances are highly intimate artefacts, they have the magical power to stir up emotions through our olfactive memory transporting us to a different universe. And so, just like Alice, the guests of the Grand Opening were invited to follow the rabbit and venture into Barrois’ magical world to discover its fragrant wonders.
