After a first exhibition at Salone del Mobile in Milan in April, Maliparmi and Afolki chose Pitti Immagine Uomo to meet again. They both celebrated their joint exhibition highlighting a craftsmanship dear to the Veronese house run by Annalisa Paresi and the work of Berber carpet manufacturer AFOLKI. Its director and creator Mohamed El Alami came to meet many Florentine personalities to present his new collection of Boucherouite rugs. The collaboration between Maliparmi and Afolki started five years ago when El Alami designed the Maliparmi boutiques. This collaboration then continued with a project to show their respective designs at some major international fashion and design events like Salone del Mobile and now Pitti. Mohamed El Alami is a regular at Design shows and he was the first to introduce Berber carpets to Maison & Objet in Paris. The two brands share essential values even though they come from different horizons: their attachment to their respective roots, their emphasis on ethics and the importance of using recycled materials, as well as the role of women in the company.
