Loris Gréaud lights up Murano’s ovens again for the 57th Venice Biennale

Not far from the excitement of the 57th edition of the Venice Biennale which will open its doors to the public on 13 May, it is on the island of Murano that Loris Gréaud delivers a unique experience rocked by “the almost alchemical ambition to crystallize time”. With “The Unplayed Notes Factory”, the French artist proposes to revive the Campiello della Pescheria factory, an old glass factory on the emblematic island that has been closed for sixty years. The project was conceived in collaboration with Jérôme and Emmanuelle de Noirmont (Noirmontartproduction) and curated by none other than Nicolas Bourriaud. Thus Loris Gréaud intimately invited a handful of friends and collectors to discover, this Monday May 8 in preview of the Biennale, the majestic place to which he gave a new breath. Guided by a candlelight parterre leading to the revived glass factory, the guests, including two friends Audrey Marnay and Julie Gayet, experienced an in situ dinner, an exceptional moment that they shared with eminent personalities of contemporary art such as Fabrice Bousteau, editor-in-chief of Beaux-Arts magazine, or Laurent Dumas, collector and founder of the Emerige Group. Established under more than a thousand blown glass lights (each unique in its shape), all shared a moment of poetry as the Venetian glass masters blew their glass works around them. The experience, a living, immersive picture between the burning ovens and the smoke clouds, is to be lived during the seven months of the Biennale.
