L’Oréal Paris Takes a Stand for Women’s Empowerment

Théâtre Marigny, Paris

For over a century now, L’Oréal Paris has been committed to offer high-quality beauty products, but also to foster women’s empowerment as well as representation and inclusivity. During an exceptional evening organised last January, the first beauty brand in the world paid tribute to Ilon Specht, the editor who came up with L’Oréal Paris’ legendary motto “Because I am worth it”. L’Oréal invited friends and guests to the screening of the fascinating documentary about her life called “The Final Copy of Ilon Specht” (2024), by double Oscar-winning director Ben Proudfoot.

The event carried on with an engaging conversation between actress, director and producer Eva Longoria and Global Brand President Delphine Viguier-Hovasse. The exchange was mediated by Fabienne Sylvestre, director of the think tank Lab Femmes de Cinéma for equality in the cinema industry. Focusing on the importance of representation and inclusivity in cinema, they reached the conclusion that there is still a long way to go to reach true gender equality in the industry. A stimulating debate that brought together Daphné Bürki, Anaïde Rozam, Raphael Say, Flora Coquerel, Evelyn Kazantzoglou, Chloé Lecareux and many others.
