Marco Rambaldi’s Pledge For Love At Milan Fashion Week

Good or Bad. Hate or Love. Marco Rambaldi is what one can call « a regular » when it comes to Milan Fashion Week. This year, however, his spring-summer collection translated some kind of deeper bitterness – most likely sparked by the ongoing political situation in Italy. The Italian designer turned to literature for inspiration with a direct reference to Catullus’ poem « Odio et Amo ». Only such a strong oxymoron could explain why unusually minimalist black dresses sit alongside Rambaldi’s traditionally eccentric and colorful crochet pieces. Fortunately, the common thread running through the collection is the symbol of the heart, found on shirts or black dresses, or added in the form of a discreet button; as a constant reminder of the importance of love against indifference.

« Challenging hate is crucial today as we are facing such a sad historical period. One must always take a step back by reflecting on our current world with objectivity »

The cast was, once again, as inclusive as could be as a rainbow flag, symbol of freedom, flew above the parade.

And so were the guests: Michele Bravi, Nina Zilli, Greta Futura, Muriel De Gennaro and Alison Bizzi.
