The Zadig&Voltaire prize awards rock literature

Literature can also be rock and roll, and Zadig&Voltaire knows what they’re talking about! The brand, which takes its name from the legendary French philosopher, organizes its annual literary prize for novels with a touch of spice. In association with Technikart magazine, the Zadig Prize (for first novels) and the Voltaire Prize (for more established authors) both highlight the treasures of the new literary season. The 2021 edition brought together ten works selected by the jury composed of Baptiste Liger, Lilia Hassaine, Jacques Braunstein, Cecilia Bönström, Frédéric Beigbeder, Guillaume Durand and Pauline Dreyfuss. On Thursday, November 18, the jury met at La Coquille d’Or in the Château Voltaire for the long-awaited deliberations, before awarding the Zadig Prize to Salomé Kiner for ‘Grande Couronne’ and the Voltaire Prize to Alexandre Labruffe for ‘Wonder Landes’. The ceremony was followed by a party in the hushed atmosphere of the bar. This was the perfect way to honor a modern literature that is not afraid to show a little insolence.
